Just wanted to give ION in Middletown the proper shout out. Their food and integrity of ingredients is off the charts. As mentioned in my previous blog they use all organic and local farm grown ingredients and is slowing becoming the mecca for RAW FOOD enthusiasts and vegan/gluten-free clients. Their desserts are almost orgasmic and well worth the drive alone. They have weekly events including local artists, intuitive readings and ongoing lectures and cooking classes on RAW cooking and organic vegan gourmet cuisine. The owner and chef MARK SHADLE is an inspiration to me on so many levels. He walks the talk and lives himself on an organic farm in DURHAM CT. He drives a car that runs fully on the veggie grease that he gets from the restaurant. He also uses many ingredients and herbs from is own farm in his menu items and you can definitely feel the love poured in the food….one stir at a time. I love love love this restaurant.
